My 13 Favorite Tried & Tested Baby Gear Products

I wish I had a list of Tried & Tested Baby Gear Products when I started preparing my registry 4 years ago. As a first time mom it’s so so overwhelming and having a list like this with details on how it can be useful even in the future is so helpful. So here, after 4 years and 3 kids and lots of trial and error is my list of FAVORITE Recommendations for you!

Infant & Toddler High Chair

Our favorite high chair is the Stokke Tripp Trapp. It is pricey but I love that it can work on both carpet & hardwood floor. This chair grows with the baby and converts to an aduItchair. It is made of 100% solid beech wood, and is long-lasting (we had it for 2 years). We picked a color that matched our dining table and chairs. You can purchase the chair without the baby set and cushion. However, the best value is the bundle which includes the Chair, Babyset, a Cushion.

Swings/Rockers

So we have 2 favorites here and I couldn’t pick just one! Both have slightly different features and are priced differently.

The Graco DuetSoothe Swing and Rocker is the perfect combo. I can remove the rocker and use it anywhere in the house without having to move the whole set up. Once we are done we can just hook it back up and it rotates the swing in different ways. It has different music options (10 melodies and five nature sounds) which is great if you want to play something for your baby. Last but not least it also is electrically operated.

The Graco Cozy Duet Swing Plus Rocker is similar to the one above except that it is a little more compact and also doesn’t swing in different directions. It also doesn’t have music options except for on the rocker which needs to be battery operated.

Diaper Bag

What's inside my Fawn Design Diaper Back Pack Tried & Tested Baby Gear

If you know me you know that my favorite and only bag I carry is the Fawn Design Diaper Backpack. I haven’t carried another bag in 10 months! Yes, 10 months! I have owned the Old Generation Fawn Design and all the different ones over the last one year, so I have seen all the changes they have made to the bags which is what made me love it even more.

You can read more about what I love about this bag and how I pack it here.

Double Stroller

When I had my first I knew I wanted to invest in a stroller that I was going to be able to use for more than 1 child. So I chose the city select as it was the best rated Double Stroller in the market. I have now had this stroller for over 4 and half years, we purchased a second seat for my daughter and now plan to add a glider board for my son. The only downside of the stroller is the weight. It is pretty heavy especially when pushing 2 toddlers but it has been VERY efficient when we spend long days out and has lots of space at the bottom for shopping or storing items we need for the day out. We have used this stroller to travel internationally and within the USA and it has held up really well.

Booster Seats

The frustrating thing about when your baby starts to sit and eat solids is that there are so many types of seats to choose from. We went straight to the high chair but I have used 3 booster seats so far that I highly recommend depending on your babies age/your table seating arrangements.

To start this Graco 3 in 1 Booster High Chair for infants is one I have used at my friend’s houses several times when my babies weren’t toddlers and we loved it. It comes with a tray and grows with your child into a toddler booster. The best part about this booster is that it swivels from side to side. So you don’t have to move your heavy dining chair or yourself when feeding!

When our space started getting limited I decided to get rid of our Stokke High Chair I decided we needed something that was slim, that would fit on our chairs and not really be a permanent fixture and work for toddlers. I found the OXO Tot Perch Booster Seat with Straps.I really love how contemporary yet functional it was. We sometimes don’t even know it’s there when we pull the chair out! For my older toddler, we got him the same OXO Toddler Booster Seat without Straps.

We have had both for over a year now and it is super easy to wipe down and has only 2 parts!

Convertible Car Seats

When we had our first baby, we knew we didn’t want to purchase several items just like our stroller and went straight to a convertible seat. This Graco 4 Ever car seat takes children through the 4 stages from the newborn phase you’re your child is 120 lbs giving you 10 years of use. Both my toddlers have this car seat and they love the recline option and the 2 cups on the side for snacks. It’s also VERY easy to set up. Definitely worth your investment to use 1 car seat through the years!

Shopping Cart Hammock

BinxyBaby Target Shopping Cart Hammock Convenience Costco Tried & Tested Baby Gear

When I was about 5 months pregnant with my 3rd child I came across the Binxy Baby shopping hammock and I just knew I HAD to have it It honestly makes my shopping so much easier. I love wearing a baby Carrier but this is so useful if you need your hands free to tend to other kids or even carry heavy items onto the cart. It’s like a mini break from carrying a baby while you shop. Baby also enjoys just being able to look around. I can’t tell you how many people have stopped me to comment on how they wish they had one too or how they wish this was invented for adults

Baby Lounger/Sleeper

Dockatot Ollie Swaddle Baby Lounger Baby Bed Baby Cosleeper Baby Soother Luxury CoSleeper Tried & Tested Baby Gear

The Dockatot is the cutest lounger/co-sleeper! It has helped us so much making co-sleeping safe and allows us to have baby chill anywhere in the house between feeds and naps. It is soft and gives the baby a snuggling feeling. I like that we can also carry this to our inlaw’s or friends houses if we need baby to have a “flat” surface to rest on. You can read more about my full review on the Dockatot here.

Infant Bath Tub

I know you are probably thinking, a favorite bath tub? Yes. I will tell you why! This Fisher Price Baby Bath tub has a mesh sling that is perfect for when you have a newborn. It allows me to have both my hands free while bathing them. It has a stopper at the bottom that prevents slipping and sliding. Once your infant is able sit, there is a support aid.  It works great till they outgrow it and start trying to get out! I have used this for all my kids and we loved it.

Infant Bouncer

This Fished Price bouncer has been our go-to for moving around the house. We initially got it so we would have something lightweight to take to the grand parents place. It is so useful in the kitchen sometimes, or in the shower when I want to keep my baby with me. It has good padding compared to other bouncers.

We LOVED our DockATot! It was so helpful when our 2nd baby was born. Plus, we’ve lent it to 3 other families and it’s still in great condition!

I’m staring at some of these and saying, “Why didn’t I know about this?!” My kids are getting older so the only thing I still might check into is the folding booster seat, but what a great list! Many of these would be perfect for a registry.

I wish I would have had one of those swing rockers when my kids were little enough to fit one. It looks like the perfect thing to soothe them when Mama can’t right at the moment.
